Mundus Journalism is a two-year Erasmus Mundus master’s in journalism, media and globalisation, taught at Aarhus (Denmark) and partner universities in Amsterdam, London, Munich and Prague. The 2027-2029 programme accepts applications from 1 November 2026.
The scholarship
- About 10 to 15 Erasmus Mundus scholarships per intake, open to applicants of all nationalities. They waive all tuition fees for both years, pay EUR 1,400 per month for up to 24 months and include free health and liability insurance.
- Applicants who do not receive an Erasmus Mundus scholarship are expected to qualify for an Erasmus+ stipend of up to EUR 6,000 for the second year.
- Fees for self-funded students: EUR 9,000 in the first year (non-EU) and EUR 12,000 in the second.
Requirements
- English at CEFR C1 or above (unless exempt under the rules of the chosen Year 2 specialisation); applications without the required English documentation cannot be considered for admission or for a scholarship.
- A completed bachelor’s degree by 1 August 2027, one month before the course starts; you may apply before you graduate.
- One application covers both admission and the scholarship: the application form and the Application Reflections section. Selection criteria include academic performance and relevant journalistic or media experience.
- Not eligible for the scholarship: people who completed a master’s of two years or more after a three-year bachelor’s, or who previously received an Erasmus Mundus scholarship (they can still apply as self-funded students).
- The first semester in Denmark is compulsory; the second-year specialisation is in Amsterdam, London, Munich or Prague, in a country other than your country of permanent residence.
