CYBERSURE is a two-year Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in cybersecurity and assurance, coordinated by NTNU in Norway with six partner universities. The programme is open to all nationalities. Applications open on 16 November 2026 at 09:00 (GMT+1) and close on 4 January 2027 at 23:59 (GMT+1). You apply for a scholarship in the same online application.

The role

Full-time, 120 ECTS, taught in English, leading to a joint degree. Year one is at NTNU in Trondheim and Gjøvik. Year two is at one of six partners: Aalto (Finland), University of Tartu (Estonia), DTU (Denmark), KTH (Sweden), EURECOM (France) or TU Graz (Austria).

Erasmus Mundus scholarships cover tuition, travel and a monthly living allowance; the programme’s scholarship page shows 16 800 EUR per year. For the 2026 intake the page lists 12 scholarships for students from all countries and 5 additional ones for targeted regions; the number for the 2027 intake is not stated. Applicants learn the scholarship decision when the selection results are published. Someone selected without a scholarship can join self-funded. Students who previously held an EMJM scholarship cannot apply for another.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution, equal to 180 ECTS or at least three years of full-time study, that gives access to master’s studies in the country of award. NTNU asks for mathematics, computer science/informatics, computer engineering, information technology, information systems or a closely related field; strong candidates with other degrees may be considered if they have enough coursework in those areas.
  • Applicants from outside the EU/EEA must submit their final degree certificate and consolidated transcript by the application deadline.
  • English: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall and 6.0 in writing. TOEFL iBT taken before 21 January 2026: 92 overall, 22 in writing; taken on or after 21 January 2026: 4.5 total, 4.5 in writing and in each section. Cambridge C1 Advanced with grade A, B or C; C2 Proficiency with grade A, B, C or C1. Only the listed tests are accepted. Scores from different test dates cannot be combined. IELTS and TOEFL results are valid for two years from the test date; the 2027 round accepts tests taken on or after 16 November 2024. Test results must reach the admissions office by 18 January 2027. The page also lists exemptions from the test.
  • Compulsory documents: bachelor’s degree certificate and transcripts (with translations where needed), country-specific documents, a motivation video (max. 1 minute, 100 MB, submitted as a link in a separate PDF), a motivation letter (max. 500 words), a CV, a copy of a valid passport or photo ID, proof of current place of residence and proof of English proficiency. Applicants who would study self-funded also upload proof of financing under the Norwegian visa rules. Two academic recommendation letters are recommended, not compulsory. Incomplete applications are not considered.
  • Selected students must send certified copies of the degree certificate and transcript by 15 August 2027.
