Apply

The MSc European Forestry is an Erasmus Mundus joint master’s coordinated by the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) with six forestry universities in France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Romania and the Netherlands. The next call is for the course starting in August 2027.

The scholarship

  • Erasmus Mundus (EMJM) scholarships are competitive and are applied for at the same time as the study place, with the same application form. They cover student participation costs (including consortium fees and full insurance) and pay EUR 1,400 per month for up to 24 months.
  • The scholarships are available to non-EU/EEA and EU/EEA students, and the amount is the same for all.
  • In the 2027 application round the consortium may grant a number of programme-specific fee waivers to the best non-EU/EEA applicants who do not receive an EMJM scholarship. The waivers cover 50% or 100% of the consortium fees for up to 24 months and are decided during selection.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or comparable degree in forest sciences or a related discipline.
  • Application on Studyinfo.fi; the form is available only while the call is open.
  • People who already received an Erasmus Mundus Master’s scholarship are not eligible for a second one.
  • All admitted students pay the Student Union fee and the student healthcare fee required in Finland.

About the employer

The consortium has seven members: the University of Eastern Finland (coordinator), AgroParisTech, Freiburg, Lleida, BOKU, Transilvania Brasov and Wageningen (a full partner from 2026). Students study the first year at the University of Eastern Finland and the second at a partner university; graduates receive a joint or double degree.
