AVIDE welcomes Vietnam and Denmark establishing a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership

On October 20, 2026, in Copenhagen, Vietnam and Denmark agreed to upgrade their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the State visit of General Secretary and President To Lam. This milestone occurred as the two countries celebrated 55 years of diplomatic relations (1971–2026).

The new relationship builds upon the Comprehensive Partnership established in 2013 and the Green Strategic Partnership established in 2023. According to the Joint Statement, the two countries will enhance cooperation in green transition and energy, science and technology, health, education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. The Statement also recognized the role of associations and professional activities in connecting the people of the two countries.

The Association of Vietnamese Experts and Intellectuals in Denmark (AVIDE) is pleased to welcome this development. The association aims to contribute to connecting knowledge, experience, and collaborative ideas among experts, organizations, and communities in Vietnam and Denmark. For AVIDE, the value of the partnership is demonstrated through practical cooperation opportunities that bring benefits to the people of both countries.

Denmark is the second country in the European Union, after France, to establish a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework with Vietnam, according to Nhan Dan Newspaper. AVIDE expects the new relationship to continue expanding opportunities for exchange, learning, and cooperation between the two societies in the coming years.
