1. What the AI assistant is, and is not

The AI assistant on avide.dk is an information tool, built on material AVIDE has approved and the general knowledge of an artificial intelligence (AI) model. It is not legal, tax, health, financial or immigration advice, and its answers are not the association’s official position. The association’s official position lives only in documents the Executive Board itself publishes.

2. Answers can be wrong or out of date

The AI model can misread a question, cite the wrong source, or draw on information that has since changed. Check any answer against an official source before you act on it: borger.dk, nyidanmark.dk, skat.dk, sundhed.dk, or ask an AVIDE volunteer directly. On law, tax, immigration, health and money, the assistant gives information only, never advice, and always points you to a next step: an AVIDE volunteer or a licensed professional. The association is not liable for a decision you make on the strength of an answer.

3. Limits on use

Do not use the assistant to get around the law. Do not enter another person’s personal data without their consent, and do not paste sensitive data such as a CPR number, medical records or bank account details: if you do, the assistant will not repeat it back and will explain why. Guests and members carry different question quotas depending on their status, and the association can suspend the service at any time, including on signs of abuse.

4. Topics the association does not discuss

The assistant does not take a position on party politics, elections, territorial or historical disputes, or religion. On these topics it declines in one short sentence and points you back to the association’s own scope. This is a board decision, built into how the assistant runs, not an arbitrary technical limit.

5. Your data

Full detail is in the Privacy Policy. In short: chat messages are kept for 30 days; if you ask to be escalated to a volunteer, the contact details you leave are kept for 90 days after that request is closed; feedback on an answer is kept for 12 months, without the original question text; server logs are kept for 14 days. A logged-in member can view, download and delete their own chat history; a guest finds instructions for clearing local history in the Privacy Policy.

AVIDE is the data controller for this service. Novodan ApS operates the assistant service as AVIDE’s processor. The two AI model providers, OpenAI and Google, are sub-processors; both host outside the European Union (EU), so the transfer runs under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

6. Feedback and complaints

If an answer is wrong, press “Report a wrong answer” right under it, or use the feedback form in the chat panel. For any other complaint about the assistant, write to [email protected]; we answer within 30 days.

7. Intellectual property and sources

Content AVIDE has written (articles, guides, internal documents) belongs to the association. When the assistant cites an external source, that source still belongs to its own owner, and every citation carries a link so you can check it yourself.

8. Changes and governing law

The current version always lives on this page; a material change is announced to members by email. These terms are governed by Danish law.
