It is truly joyful and heartwarming that every year, as spring arrives, the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts in Denmark (AVIDE) has the opportunity to participate in and celebrate the “Homeland Spring” program organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Denmark.

This year, on January 28, at Asia House in Copenhagen, in a warm and convivial atmosphere, the Vietnamese Embassy in Denmark organized the Homeland Spring program to welcome the Lunar New Year of the Wood Dragon 2024, with the participation of nearly 200 overseas Vietnamese living, studying, and working in Denmark.

On behalf of the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts in Denmark, Vice President Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien reported on some prominent community activities in 2023 and expressed her great joy and emotion at the increasing active participation of young overseas Vietnamese in Denmark in activities organized by the Embassy as well as other community activities, aiming to build a strong Vietnamese community in Denmark that makes practical and specific contributions to the homeland and the country.

Dr. Hien emphasized that the country’s achievements in recent times have fostered immense trust and pride among young overseas Vietnamese, who are experts and intellectuals studying and working abroad, regarding their aspiration to contribute to the nation’s future development.

The most moving moment of the program was when AVIDE members sang together the song “Vietnam, My Homeland” by musician Do Nhuan. All delegates and patriotic overseas Vietnamese present at the ceremony looked up at the screen, singing the heartfelt and majestic lyrics about Vietnam, with tears of emotion in everyone’s eyes. Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi sang along and, deeply moved, used both hands to conduct the choir.

After the performance, Dr. Le Quy Vang, President of AVIDE, on behalf of the Association, extended his gratitude to the Embassy, sponsors, and the supportive participation and companionship of the Vietnamese community in Denmark, Vietnam, and many other parts of the world. After its first year of operation, having overcome many difficulties and challenges, AVIDE has carried out many foundational tasks for the Association and undertaken practical activities. Dr. Vang affirmed the Association’s determination and operational direction with the concise phrase ‘connect – unite – support – contribute’ for the benefit of the communities and societies of Vietnam and Denmark.

The event concluded with many beautiful and heartwarming echoes in the hearts of AVIDE Executive Committee members. We had the opportunity for intimate exchanges, experiencing incredibly moving moments immersed in genuine warmth while meeting and conversing with beloved compatriots, enjoying traditional Tet dishes, and once again raising our voices in song to welcome the new spring.

On the occasion of the arrival of spring, AVIDE respectfully wishes all members of the association and dear compatriots a brilliant and joyful Year of the Wood Dragon!
