Lund University’s Faculty of Science, Department of Biology, is hiring a permanent, full-time senior lecturer (associate professor) in computational biology. The role suits a researcher who builds mathematical models of ecological and evolutionary systems and wants to combine that with teaching and supervision.
The role
- Research (at least 50% of time) on mathematical modelling of ecological and evolutionary systems
- Establish an independent research environment in this area
- Teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including courses on biological modelling and evolutionary biology
- Supervise undergraduate students and PhD candidates
- Contribute to departmental outreach and, over time, leadership tasks
Requirements
- PhD in biology or computational science, with demonstrated teaching expertise
- Scientific expertise in analytical mathematical modelling of biological systems
- Five weeks of formal higher-education teaching training, or equivalent
- Post-PhD research experience gained at a different institution
- Excellent English; if not already proficient in Swedish, must reach level B2 within three years
